Not too scary for Halloween, rain chances creep in this weekend — Columbus Community news

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - It’s been almost three weeks without measurable rain for most of east Alabama and west Georgia. That’s about to change for some of us as we head into Halloween weekend.Increasing clouds Friday night. Dry and mild. Lows early Saturday in the upper 50s and lower 60s.Mostly cloudy and breezy Saturday. There could be a few isolated showers during the afternoon and evening, but most of us stay dry for Halloween events, especially during the day. Even for the trick-or-treaters it doesn’t look like we’ll have more than a few light showers or sprinkles. Highs reach the mid to upper 70s. The gusty wind out of the east between 20 and 25 mph may blow around the candy wrappers and costumes a bit.Scattered showers are expected to increase a little later Saturday night and especially Sunday. It doesn’t appear the rain Sunday will be overly heavy, but some of us will get rain as the day progresses. Highs will be in the upper 60s and lower 70s with a gusty wind at times.Next wee
